1) Torso, Shoulder, Neck, Face & Soft Palate Stretching
Hold your face in a surprised look for at least 5 seconds (eye browns lifted high, open mouth as much as you can) and then squish your face tight (squinting eyes, pursing lips, scrunching your eyebrows) -(10 reps)
Stretch arms to the ceiling and stand on tip toe as tall, take a SLOW DEEP breath and hold for 10 seconds. Then slowly lower your feet and arms down as you exhale . (10 reps)
With legs spread the same width as your shoulders, bring one arm over your head point it toward the opposite side wall while bending to the side, then take a SLOW DEEP breath and hold it for 10 seconds & then change sides (10 reps)
With legs spread the same width as your shoulders, bend forward and let your arms hang over your feet, then take a SLOW DEEP breath and hold it for 10 seconds (10 reps)
Standing up straight, tilt your head to the right shoulder and hold it for 10 seconds, tilt your head to the left shoulder and hold it for 10 seconds & them tilt your head forward and hold it for 10 seconds. Make sure your shoulders are relaxed and that your head is really hanging ( do this for 5 reps or more) - never bend your head back...
Take very deep yawns & concentrate on stretching your soft palate as high as you can. (5 reps)
2) Breathing Exercise
While sitting up straight and comfortable, focusing on lower abdominal breathing, metronome setting (beat=80)
Count 4 beats while keeping relaxed
Take a deep breath over 4 beats
Hold the breath for 4 beats
Then a "tsss..." sound blow out the breath over 4 beats
Then repeat the first 3 steps but on step 4 you blow out the breath over 8 beats, then 12, then 16, etc... go as far as you can. Tell me your number next time I see you...
3) Voice Warm-Ups Regimen-
a) Buzz exercise - start low and end very high (0-2-2-12's and then back down)
b) e-a-i-o-ooo - use the 0-2-2-1-2's to go through each and work up past 2nd break
c) 5th sirens - start at the lowest part of your voice and work up past the 2nd break
d) 8th sirens - start at the lowest part of your voice and work up past the 2nd break
e) Thee aaa-thee ahhh- thee ah, hah, hah, hah.... go up half step increments
f) Reee-Ray- Rah.....
