October 6th

1) Posture and Playing

    (remember to keep your left had thumb between the first

      2 pieces of tape and keep the tip level to the finger board)

2) SCALES & ARPEGGIOS (when you play arpeggios please say names out loud)

    C Major (C, E, G) & A minor (A, C, E)

    G Major (G, B, D) & E minor (E, G, B)

    D Major (D, F#, A)

*A minor Scale notes (A, B, C♮, D, E, F♮, G, A and then back down)

*E minor Scale notes (E, F#, G, A, B, C, D, E and then back down)

3) Muller Rusch Book - Lesson 22-23

    *Please use long full bows!!!

4) Vibrato

     a) Put up your violin and shake out your left hand so it is relaxed

     b) Put left hand on the violin and move up and down the strings from the wrist

         (take your thumb along for the ride)

     c) Move your hand along the strings from wrist but keep the thumb planted and      

         focus on moving BACK not forward

     d) Plant the 2nd finger and do the same motions keeping in mind that the tip of the

         finger rolls back toward the scroll and then back to normal position.
